Dreaming of warmer weather

So many of us are looking forward to warm summer weather. I know that I am! One of the things that I’m looking forward to most is traveling – near and far, but there are truly so many things that all of us can look forward to. Spending more time with family, enjoying the sun (and the benefits of the sun!), traveling, and much more. Here are a few things to do this summer. I hope that this list gets you excited and brainstorming even more things that you want to do-

Plan a fun picnic

If you want to get outside more this summer, try planning a fun picnic with your friends, or your family. I love the new trend going around of creating a fancier picnic. These park picnics that I have seen include a full-blown table setting, amazing food, and plenty of beverages. Plus, shade! Having a picnic with your friends or family- no matter if it is a ‘fancier’ one or not – is an awesome way to have fun, eat great food, and get outside this summer!

Exercise more often

The great thing about summer weather? It’s easier to work out outside, which is what I LOVE. Plus, it helps mental health so much, which is really important right now. Seriously – one of the easiest ways to help improve your mental health is staying active for around 20-30 minutes per day. Don’t get me wrong, some of us who hear the word ‘exercise’ immediately have huge regrets and shut down. However, there are several ways for you to move your body that can help decrease your anxiety and increase your serotonin levels in your body. For instance, you could call up a friend and go on a long walk together through your neighborhood or a local park. You could also include your children in exercising with family yoga or stretching. Showing them the importance of exercising can also help them become more aware of why exercise is key to keeping a healthy and mentally strong mind. There are so many creative ways that you can work out while spending time outside. As I said, take a walk, or you could do something like paddleboarding, kayaking, swimming, hiking, or even taking your typical inside workout, outside. Get creative with it!

Do less

You work so hard during the year and summer is your time to relax, slow down, and take it easy. If you work non-stop all year round, you will likely become burnt out. Not only is this not a great feeling, but it can actually also make you less productive when you do work. Make sure to schedule time for yourself to just relax and recuperate so that when you do work, you will have the motivation and energy that you need. Instead of bringing work home with you, leave it at the office and spend your afternoon doing something leisurely such as gardening or going on a jog, or even just lay in a lawn chair or on your couch! Relaxation is so important to stay happy and healthy mentally and physically!

Enjoy the sun

If you ask anyone to tell you words they think of when they think of summer, “sun” would most likely be one of the first words they mention. Summer is a great time to soak in all of the vitamin D that you have missed out on the rest of the year, and has actually been shown to make you happier! Enjoy the sun by going out for a walk or jog, visiting the pool, or doing hobbies like gardening or playing sports with your family and friends. Make sure you wear sunscreen to protect your skin!

Get a NJ vacation rental

If you want to travel this summer, you don’t need to go far! You could even get a NJ vacation rental. Daniels Realty is a NJ-based business that can help you find diamond beach nj rentals. In fact, Daniels Realty is the #1 Diamond Beach / Wildwood Real Estate Agency and they have over 25 years of experience. Their website is super easy to use, and you can find both homes for rent + homes for sale on there. I love getting vacation rentals, instead of just purchasing a hotel room, because there is more space, it’s typically more comfortable, and in my experience, I’ve always had great service, too.
